Review:

If you didn’t have time to do your ½ hour walk with Christ (the training), then there is something in your life that’s off kilter. What’s happening in your life where you can’t take a ½ hour?

Lies lead to bondage

We move towards what we believe about ourselves. In our lives we are told many things about where we should go and what we should do.

John 10:10 – A thief came to steal, slaughter and destroy…

The Evil One is the father of all lies.

The Evil One affirms the voices that say that we don’t have much to offer.

The degree of truth that we believe = the degree of freedom that we experience.

We have been written an incredible letter by our Heavenly Father filled with truth.

The Words of Truth from Jesus to Others:

Don’t be afraid Peter, you are going to catch men.

To the leper – “Be clean”

The woman who cleaned Jesus with her hair – “Do you see this woman…learn from her….your sins who are many are forgiven.”

The adulterous woman – Who condemned you? Not me.

Your faith has saved you go in peace.

To Lazarus – Take off the grave clothes

Don’t be afraid, I’m going to prepare a place for you.

John 21 – Peter denies Jesus three times, Jesus gives Peter three times to come back to Him, “Peter do you love me?”

For some reason we can’t imagine the truth and the loving words from God. The cross is the greatest declaration of what truth can do. He can take stuff that we cannot change and has the capacity to repair broken hearts. If there is no cross there is no resurrection and release from bondage. We can say that we love Jesus but that doesn’t really make us different.

Romans 5 – We have been united with Christ in death…this leads to our freedom from sin.

Jesus Christ is telling us that He’s buried our sin, He’s buried our junk when He died on the cross but for some reason we still carry it around, we are the only ones who can resurrect our sins, but even if we do, He is still there.

Collossians 1:19-20 - If this is true why do you and I keep the dead junk living?

“When you don’t understand all you need to know is that He (God) is actually holding your hand.”

Colossians 3 – "Since then you have been raised with Christ, se your hearts on things above…When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature…”

If you want to please God, just let Him hold your hand. Think about how different your entire life would be if we could really believe that there is something more true than the lies we believe.
